When you watch a convention speaker, they seem to look right at you.ย You can see them looking at other people in the audience, to the left and the right.ย How likely is it that they memorized every word of their speech?ย When it counts, even then, you at least need a reminder, right?
Teleprompters, of course.ย But whereโs the teleprompter when the speakerโs looking at you and you never seem to see them looking at a prompter?ย Sometimes, you can see a narrow black vertical-looking thing when President Obama is speaking, sometimes one to each side of him.
What if you donโt see the slim teleprompter?ย Does this mean the speaker has a perfect memory, or worked so hard she/he memorized the speech?
Not so fast.ย Hereโs a peek at where the teleprompter lives at the Democratic National Convention.ย Sneaky, or clever?
You can do it!ย Practice looking down, then at the card in the photo, then saying it while looking ahead of you, as if there are people listening to you to the left and to the right.ย See, itโs easy.
Itโs always easier when you know the magicianโs secret.
